While i'm not to happy at how this turned out, i tried my best. not everything created from danmeitober will be a thing i like (and i have to remember that like a mantra)

I saw this post floating around where ppl were trying to derail "don't work for a US defense contractor" with like "these other jobs are also shitty or predatory!!"

And I didn't wanna address it directly. But.

1. Those other jobs can be highly variable in their shittiness to other people. Some of them are better than others. Sometimes it changes from company to company. Some of those jobs named were actually whole fields where there are vastly different players out there.

2. Those other jobs were all industries that are highly government regulated & with lots of federal regulations to protect consumers/customers. It's not a perfect system, but it does like, exist. Huge ass lawsuits get won over violations all the time.

3. None of those jobs are focused on trying to kill people at any point in time from process to product or service. They may not be trying to keep people living easy, but they also aren't actually supplying weapons of war for murder purposes so like....

Still.....not comparable??? Defense contractors are included in acab lol.

Got into a screaming match with my roommate so now might get kicked out. She's upset that we told the post office who lives here cause my husband wasn't receiving any mail and the only solution was to tell them who actually lives here. But she says we should've talked to her first cause it's HER house. She thinks the landlord is going to find out we aren't on the lease and kick us out or raise the rent. And like what the fuck else was I supposed to do? Just not receive my fucking mail?

" she added. her hands flexed and she pulled out a chewable piece of candy. rolling it in her fingers. feeling the texture of the wax paper settling against her fingers.

she pulled the papers off her piece of caramel before plopping it in her mouth. sticking to candy as one of her main habits of nervousness. not quite stable enough to understand maybe it was a coping skill. settling back in her seat. legs crossed. hands beginning to fidget. keeping up a described version of what anyone wanted out of herself. she let out a nervous chuckle. one that pitched almost to the extreme. only laughing at the memories of her father. kept safely locked behind her eyes. she laughed, and laughed before settling on her next words, " Ahh! Too funny! I haven't laughed like that in awhile. maybe next time I'll tell ya' about this boy I knew. he thought he'd hurt me like my old man. " she wiped tears out of her eyes before continuing, " I knocked out a few o' his teeth. "
